Easy Way To Get Pregnant, Understanding Your Timing

Click for Download

The easy way to get pregnant by timing your cycle helps you relax and enjoy the process. There are limited days that a woman is fertile, and under the best of conditions, there is only 25% chance of actually getting pregnant.

Timing

Timing is an important factor.  Do women always ovulate on day 14 of their cycle? Only if they experience a perfect 28 day cycle and ovulate in the middle. Many women have cycles that varying in length and there are no guarantees ovulation occurs at the halfway point. By maintaining personal awareness and figuring out what time of the month you generally ovulate, your chances of becoming pregnant improve dramatically.

The best way to get pregnant is to make sure the sperm is in place before the egg is released. Use a basal body thermometer and chart your temperature first thing upon waking every morning. A shift in temperature upward signifies that ovulation has begun.  Once you have established a pattern, you have the best chance of predicting when ovulation begins. The sperm can live for approximately 3-5 days, but the egg only survives for 12-24 hours. So, remember to get the sperm in place ahead of ovulation

Using ovulation test kits are a helpful indicator of when ovulation will begin. When used correctly, the test predicts ovulation within 36 hours. Once the test turns positive, start having intercourse immediately and continues for the next several days. Becoming aware of ovulation cycles while timing intercourse appropriately is an easy way to get pregnant.  Timing as they say is Everything.

Getting Pregnant After Miscarriage

preg_belly2How is getting pregnant after miscarriage any different than getting pregnant for the first time?  There are some things you should be aware of.  After you deal with the trauma and disappointment of a miscarriage, there will come a time when you are ready to try again. Will this time be any different?  The answer is both yes and no.
No it won’t be much different because you know what you did to conceive the first time, so all you have to do is repeat the process to conceive the second time.

But the answer is also yes because you now need to understand why you miscarried the first time so you will avoid a miscarriage  the second time around.

There are many medical explanations for why miscarriages happen.

Some of these reasons will cause the woman to have a miscarriage just once but others may lead to recurring miscarriages. They are:

Infections,  Endocrine Problems, Uterine Abnormalities,  Genetics (chromosomes), Antibodies (Immune System) and Medical Disorders.

How Long Should You Wait?

clockThis is a question that can only be answered by you.  For myself it was a simple matter of accepting what happened and trying again as soon as physically possible.  After I experienced a miscarriage at seven weeks I was not going to wait to start the process again and was able to conceive again three months later.

Everything that I read told me that many women are tremendously fertile right after a miscarriage.   The decision is totally up to you to make.  Even though many doctors suggest you should wait at least three menstrual cycles or even for six months.

I am the kind of person who always wants to make the most of a bad situation, and if you are like me then I say, “go for it!” , as soon as you are ready.  After all, no professional can truly look into your heart and know what is right for you.  Only you can do that.  If you are too emotionally devastated and need time to mourn the loss of your pregnancy, then by all means, you should do it!  They are your emotions and feelings and you have a right to feel them and deal with them in your own way.

I have also learned that once you have had a miscarriage, the next pregnancy is considered high risk, but there are precautionary measures you can take to reduce your chances of having a second miscarriage.  I found them detailed in the Pregnancy Miracle, which I think is required reading for all potential mothers in this position.

What Are The Warning Signs Of A Miscarriage?

warningExperiencing a  miscarriage is something every pregnant woman dreads and hopes never happens to her, but the sad reality is that it does happen from time to time and it can happen to you again unless you know how to prevent it.

Common Warning Signs:

-bleeding of any intensity  -Cramping  - Dizziness  - Burning headache  -Joint Swelling  -Excessive Nausea or vomiting  -Fever  -Extreme or Sudden fatigue  -Fainting  -Severe or sudden backache  -Sudden loss of pregnancy symptoms  -Pelvic pain

Many of these symptoms could be part of some other medical condition, or even a coincidence, but if you have a concern SEE YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY!  Your health and that of your baby are most important.

Make Sure You Get Enough Folic Acid!

Folic Acid is especially important in the first few weeks of pregnancy in order to prevent birth defects.  One reason that medical science gives for miscarriage is chromosomal damage also known as fetus abnormalities.  This simply means that the chromonsomes did not develop as it should in the woman’s womb and therefore had to be shed.

Once You have decided to try again for another baby, it is important that you start prenatal care. This means taking prenatal vitamins rich in many nutrients like calcium, iron and folic acid.

The recommended daily amount is 400 micrograms. Also make sure that you are eating foods rich in folic acid.

healthy_pregnantGetting pregnant after miscarriage is a personal choice.  Only you can decide how long to wait and when you are ready to try to conceive again.  I encourage you to make the healthiest decisions for yourself and your family.  For more tips on getting pregnant please visit my website!

How To Get Pregnant With Twins

twins5So, not only do you want to take the big step of having a baby, you want to know how to get pregnant with twins!  There are no foolproof measures that will guarantee a multiple pregnancy but there are some factors you can consider to help you in our tips on getting pregnant pages.

Common Factors That Can Lead To  Twins

  • Fertility Drugs: Taking fertility drugs or undergoing fertility treatments can significantly increase your chances of having twins or another type of multiple birth. In some cases, it can increase your chances of having twins by more than 20%.
  • Age: Your chances of having twins increases as you grow older. The chance of having twins rises to 4% between the ages of 30 and 34, and to 5% between the ages of 35 and 39.
  • Family History: Having a maternal history of twins or other multiple births increases your chance of becoming pregnant with twins considerably.
  • Cultural Background: People of African American descent are more likely to have twins or multiple births. People of Asian or Hispanic descent are less likely to have twins.
  • Previous Pregnancies: Women who have had four or more previous pregnancies are the most likely to have twins.

Paternal Twins

twins1With fraternal twins, the most common type, the mother contributes two eggs that are independently fertilized in the womb by two different sperm cells from the father. They are genetically as similar as any ordinary siblings. Fraternal twins are simply brothers and/or sisters who happen to be the same age. Fraternals are more common for older mothers, with rates doubling over the age of 35.

Identical Twins

With identical twins, one egg from the mother is fertilized by one sperm from the father, and then very early in development the embryo splits and two fetuses grow. These twins are very similar genetically and they are the same gender. Identical twins appears to be a random event, not a hereditary trait, and is uniformly distributed in all populations around the world.

Semi-Identical Twins

The ’semi-identical’ twins are the result of two sperm cells fusing with a single egg, before becoming two embryos. This would result in a set of twins with identical genes from the mother’s side, but different ones from the father’s side. An embryo created this way doesn’t usually survive, but a few cases are known.

Are Twins Really That Common?

twins2The advancement of fertility treatments has led to an increase in multiple births.  Infertility treatment has more than doubled the twin birth rate in America since 1980.  There are nearly five times as many triplets being born now then before infertility treatments were used.

In the year 2000 there were:

*118,920 Twin Births

*6,740 Triplet Births

*507 Quadruplet Births

*78 Quintuplets & other higher order Births

Personally I feel that any pregnancy is a gift and if you are doubly blessed with twins, triplets or quintuplets, so much the better.  Focusing on how to get pregnant with twins is probably not the most productive use of your time.  It will happen if it is meant to be.  Focus on charting your cycle, find out when you are most fertile, get pregnant and what is meant to happen will happen!
